Overview

The Calendar view plots your items on a traditional calendar layout. It is ideal for tracking deadlines, scheduling work, and getting a time-based overview of your project.

Requirements

Your board needs at least one Date column to use the Calendar view. Items without a date value will not appear on the calendar.

Calendar Layouts

The default layout showing a full month grid. Each day cell shows item titles. Click a day to see all items or add a new one.

Setting Up the Calendar

1

Switch to Calendar View

Click the Calendar tab in the view switcher.
2

Select Date Column

Choose which date column drives the calendar placement. If items have both a Start Date and End Date, multi-day items will span across days.
3

Choose Layout

Select Month, Week, or Day layout using the controls in the top-right corner.

Interacting with Items

Creating Items

Click on any empty area of a calendar day to create a new item with that date pre-filled. In Week or Day view, clicking a specific time slot will also set the time.

Moving Items

Drag and drop items between days to change their date. In Week and Day views, you can also drag items between time slots to reschedule.

Resizing Multi-Day Items

If an item spans multiple days, drag its right edge to extend or shorten its duration.
Hold Alt / Option while dragging an item to duplicate it instead of moving it. This is useful for creating recurring tasks.

Color Coding

Calendar items are color-coded based on a configurable column. Common choices include:
  • Group color (default) — items inherit their board group color
  • Status — color by workflow status
  • Priority — color by urgency level
  • Assignee — each team member gets a distinct color

Mini Calendar

A small navigational calendar appears in the sidebar, allowing you to quickly jump to any date. The current month is highlighted, and days with items are marked with a dot.

Integration with External Calendars

You can subscribe to your Obeya Cloud calendar from external calendar apps (Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar) using the iCal feed URL. Find it in Board Settings > Calendar Feed.

Filtering

All standard filters apply to the Calendar view. Filter by assignee to see only your tasks, or by priority to focus on critical deadlines.
